Spheres On A Slope

GazonUA and Co.

Clients who own a beautiful contemporary house were interested in a perimeter landscape that was both strong and sculptural. Secondarily, it needed to provide discreet screening of their corner yard from the street. The property slopes dramatically in two directions.  The decision to use large plant material had much to do with the weight and stability of the root balls. The plants themselves proved to be helpful in retaining the slope. Each plant had to be sorted for size and shape, and selected for a particular spot, even though upon casual inspection they seem remarkably uniform in size. The relationship between the plants and the overall sculptural form creates an interesting visual tension.
